Jackie

Jackie Alynovich

Jackie has a passion for teaching and has extensive experience both in the classroom and in a one-to-one setting. Jackie completed her undergraduate education at Northwestern University where she studied Communication Science Disorders. She graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society. She then completed a Master’s in Early Childhood Education at Depaul University. Upon graduation, Jackie taught in the Chicagoland area in both private and public schools with students from Kindergarten through third grade.

In 2021, Jackie and her husband moved to New York City where she works in a private school for students with language based learning disabilities. Here she has gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, executive functioning disabilities, and other learning challenges. Jackie also serves as a teacher mentor, coaching new teachers in lesson planning and incorporating various instructional strategies to support a wide range of student needs. Jackie has privately tutored students ranging from Pre-K through Third Grade for the past six years in reading, writing, and math.

Jessica Cathcart

Jess Cathcart is a creative educator who brings joy and enthusiasm to every learning experience inside and outside of the classroom.

Inspired by her role as a big sister to eight siblings, she graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. After teaching second grade in Kalamazoo, MI, she relocated to New York to pursue her Masters in Educational Technology and began work as the Academic Technology Coordinator at Speyer Legacy School. She was recently the Lower School STEAM Teacher at Calhoun School and starting in the Fall of 2024, she will be teaching at Chapin School.

Her passion for the Maker movement and hands-on learning motivated her to join the Rutgers’ Maker Ed certification program and collaborate with STEAM educators across New Jersey, integrating project-based learning into K-4 curriculum.

Alongside her speciality in edtech, Jess has honed her reading intervention skills though her work at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes and individual tutoring sessions. She is fully trained in both the Seeing Stars and Visualizing and Verbalizing programs and was named Clinician of the Summer for excellence in reading intervention. When she’s not teaching, Jess loves being outdoors and spends her free time doing yoga, taking care of her indoor plant collection, cuddling with her cat, and going on adventures near and far.

Lily Horowitch

Lily Horowitch is a current educator with a passion for helping children feel confident and capable as learners. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education Studies and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Brandeis University. Lily is certified in grades 1-6 and has experience working with students across grade levels. She is skilled in using Wilson Fundations and the Hochman Method for teaching Writing Revolution. Lily collaborates with families, teachers, and support services and crafts an individual plan for each child. Lily helps children feel seen, confident, and love learning!

Shayna Nash

Shayna is a committed, enthusiastic, and adaptable educator with experience in public and independent school classrooms and one-on-one, small group, and virtual settings. She taught English in Jerusalem and was a first grade head teacher in North Carolina prior to moving to New York City. After five years of first grade, Shayna transitioned to teaching literacy to English Language Learners at an independent school. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Elon University and a Certificate in Television Writing from UCLA. She’s a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honors Education Society. Shayna is passionate about empowering and inspiring learners to take academic risks and enhance further learning in and out of school. Fun fact: Shayna loves comedy and has taught stand-up comedy and joke writing classes for kids!

Rebecca Adler

Rebecca Adler

Rebecca brings a wealth of academic and practical experience to her tutoring practice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Over the past eight years, Rebecca has passionately taught high school math in the dynamic New York City public school system and has achieved tenure, underscoring her commitment and excellence in education. Certified in Secondary Mathematics (grades 7-12), she is adept at tutoring students across all grade levels, from kindergarten through college. Rebecca has privately tutored students ranging from second grade to college sophomores for the past eight years predominantly in math and occasionally in ELA.

Rebecca’s approach to tutoring extends beyond academic instruction; she emphasizes fostering strong relationships and maintaining open communication with both students and parents. This holistic approach helps build a supportive learning environment, which is crucial for developing strong academic skills and achieving measurable success. She has consistently raised test scores and promoted academic growth through personalized, engaging instruction. As a model teacher leader at her high school, Rebecca is dedicated to educational excellence and innovation. Caroline Glaenzer

Caroline Glaenzer

Caroline Glaenzer is passionate about empowering students to unlock their full potential through tailored academic support. Currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she has over ten years in middle school education as a former Special Education teacher, Learning Specialist, and grade-level dean. She specializes in executive functioning support, reading comprehension and fluency, and writing organization using the Hochman Writing Revolution. She aims to help students develop essential academic skills, and identify and leverage their strengths to become self-aware, enthusiastic learners.

She earned my B.A. in History with a minor in Anthropology from Kenyon College. After two years as a Special Education teacher at Mary McDowell Friends School in Brooklyn, where she supported students with language-based learning disabilities, she obtained my Master’s degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education in Learning and Teaching. She then served as a Learning Specialist at Rodeph Sholom Middle School, focusing on academic support and serving as a grade-level Dean.
